Ber Months at The Fort

September 18, 2020
Ber Months 02

The Philippines has the longest Christmas on Earth. We start our holiday practices from about 4 months before the actual holiday season, from September up to December. And we call these Ber months or when the last syllable at the end of the months’ names start to turn “-ber”.  To simply put it, in the Philippines it is already Christmas season the day the climate turns “brrr”.

Unlike many holidays throughout the year, we prepare for Christmas extravagantly. It is the season where we put up colorful lights and parols in front of our houses. It is also the season where kids have new clothes, shoes, and toys. Hence, Christmas for Filipinos symbolizes prosperity and euphoria.

The community of Fort Bonifacio recognizes this by riding on with the overjoyed Christmas culture of Filipinos. Here are some of the Christmas themes one can see in Fort Bonifacio during the past two consecutive years.

Christmas 2019

Christmas 2019 had the theme Aglow: A BGC Christmas Fairytale. From the name itself, it was filled with magical lights, pixie dust, and dancing fairies.

Christmas 2018

Christmas 2018 was a crowd favorite. Not only was it lively, but it also brought back the memories of being a kid once again. All throughout BGC, homeowners, and tourists could enjoy animated movie characters from Monster’s Inc., Cars, Toy Story, and many more.
