The lockdown forced many of us to work at home. And for most of us that are used to the office environment, we might meet some difficulties in the sudden change of work environment. Equipment
Depending on the nature of your work, you must first identify the necessary equipment that you will need. If you are a graphic artist, you might need a computer or laptop with certain specs. A drawing pad or a tablet might also be of use. If you work in a telecommunications company, you might need a telephone nearby for concalls. Different equipment applies to different occupations. And so, you will have to list down equipment which will make your work efficient.
Room
One of the struggles of working at home is distraction. Hence, to be more productive you have to separate the work environment from the home environment. To do this, a separate room dedicated as your home office is recommended. Not only to set a barrier for distractions such as family members or temptations but to also regulate psychologically the place and place for focus.

Ergonomically correct desks and chairs are advised to lessen muscle fatigue related to improper posture. So choose an office desk and chair you are comfortable with to maximize your productivity.

Plus, since many would be working in front of a computer for hours, having a natural light inside the room would make the screen less straining in the eyes as compared to a darker room.

A stable internet connection is a necessity in having a home-based job. Aside from updating spreadsheets or sending files online, you will need it during online meetings when collaborating with your team.
Motivation and Discipline
Last but not the least, you need to have the proper mindset. With the living room and kitchen a few meters away from you, there will be lots of distractions that will come your way. You need motivation to start the day early and finish on time. Most importantly, you need discipline to set a time everyday dedicated to work and a separate one for leisure.
