Our mothers may just be mothers in the world’s eyes but they are the world in our eyes. With this day that comes only once a year, let us all take the time to appreciate our moms. They have spent years, guiding and supporting us through our decisions. In this time of crisis even if there’s little we can do to celebrate, there is something that we can do. Here are some of the things you can do at home this mother’s day.

Remake Her Specialty Meal

This is great for those who are with their moms during the lockdown. Try to remake your most favorite meal made by your mom. Of course, it may be different from hers but she’ll surely appreciate the effort.

Buy Her a New Hobby

Mothers are very busy, especially the working ones during regular days. And so, the lengthy time of being idle at home is an opportunity to learn new skills. Introduce new hobbies or skills to her like diamond painting, stitching, or baking. Some of the tools for these could be found at home, while others could be bought online.

Surprise Her With Food Deliveries at Her Place

If you are not currently with your mom, and there’s no way for you to remake her specialty meal, surprise her with online deliveries. Many stores are open for deliveries, especially in Metro Manila. Many of them follow strict guidelines on handling food and containers so you can be sure that they are safe.

Make a Video Compilation of the Family’s Best Moments

You can show it to her personally or send it via messaging apps. Whatever family video or pictures you put into, memories make people feel closer.

Crisis, like this one we are in, could happen even when we least expect it. So this Mother’s Day, let us show our thanks to that one person who is there for us the moment we stepped into this world. That person who stands beside us during our pitfalls and success through the years. As people say, “Life doesn’t come with a manual, it comes with a mother.” She was there to help out and care for us, now it’s time to do the same.
